2025: Growth, Seva, and New Chapters
This year has been a journey—a mix of learning, growth, and meaningful connections, both in my work and in my community.
Professionally, I started off 2025 by writing a piece for Baaz News, “Ontario’s First Sikh-Punjabi Long-Term Care Home Coming To Brampton,” which goes into Brampton getting its first Punjabi long-term care centre.
I had the privilege of working as a Digital Content Editor at Bell Media, producing and publishing video content for CTV News and CP24, writing live captions, and creating original thumbnails and social content.
Later, as a Communications & Social Media Associate with Next Campaign, I helped build digital presence, produce graphics and short-form videos, and support PR initiatives.
Both roles pushed me to adapt, collaborate, and show up consistently, even during fast-paced, high-pressure moments.
But 2025 wasn’t just about work—it was about giving back and showing up for my community.
I helped Khalsa Aid with their annual 5K run, contributed to Seva Spark Tank, a first-of-its-kind pitch competition for Sikhs, organized a Sahibzada Toy Drive, and supported Experience Sikhi with their Downtown Seva Initiative, handling media and outreach. Each experience reminded me that seva isn’t just about action—it’s about heart, connection, and presence.
On a personal level, this year has been about growth, reflection, and resilience. I’ve made new friends, learned valuable lessons, and embraced a growth mindset.
I’m learning to accept Waheguru’s hukam, including the grief I carry from losing my grandfather in October 2024, and to move forward on my own timeline. I’m learning to face challenges without overthinking, to be gentle with myself, and to trust that growth often comes in small, quiet steps.
As I step into 2026, I carry these lessons with me. I’m ready to work harder, laugh louder, and let go of what I cannot control. I choose growth, good energy, and showing up even on messy days. I choose gratitude, faith, and trust in the path laid out before me.
And I want to challenge anyone reading this to do the same: find one way this year to show up for your community, for yourself, and for the people who matter.
Take small steps, embrace growth, and trust the journey.
Onward and upward.
Happy New Year ✨🙏🏽

happy new year! I just wrote about the death of narrative in news, we’re overstimulated but somehow still uninformed. I’d love for you to read!
